4 Great Family-friendly Playgrounds & Parks in Las Vegas for 2025

When I first moved to the Las Vegas metro area with my first child, I started a growing list of parks to visit. Despite not having a reputation as being a family-friendly city, Las Vegas actually has quite a few nice parks for toddlers and kids, among other family-friendly spots. My goal back then was to find the best parks in Las Vegas and Henderson. Whether the parks had trails, playgrounds, or large grassy areas, I was excited to explore all the parks this city had to offer. I made a goal to try and take my toddler to a new park or stroller-friendly trail every week or two when I started getting out and about more postpartum. It was a nice way to explore the city with my little one and get some sun and fresh air.

The Benefits of Being Outdoors

Speaking of sun and fresh air, there is increasing evidence that being outside in nature comes with a number of important physical and psychological benefits. These benefits include improved physical health, reduced stress, better concentration, and increased creativity (Novotney, 2008).

Honestly, we all already knew this, right? I can attest to the fact that when we make it outside for a good chunk of time, we all seem to have better moods the rest of the day. Just the vitamin D alone that you get from being in the sun is massively beneficial (Nair & Maseeh, 2012), not to mention the myriad other benefits.

With the new year just around the corner, I am planning to reignite this mission to find the best parks in Las Vegas and Henderson for the year ahead. It is all a part of my overarching mission to build healthier habits into each day for myself and my family. And lucky you, I’ll be sharing all the best Las Vegas parks and playgrounds we stumble across right here in this post!

Important Note: This post will be a living document throughout the year of 2025, starting with southwest Las Vegas and venturing throughout the city. So make sure to check back as more playgrounds and parks in Las Vegas are added each month!

The Best Playgrounds & Parks in Las Vegas

1. Cougar Creek Park

Address: 6701 West Wigwam Avenue Las Vegas, NV 89139

Community: Enterprise

Quadrant: Southwest

Cougar Creek Park is in a convenient location, just a few minutes from many food spots and businesses. The park has tons of grassy areas, plenty of paved sidewalks, picnic tables, workout stations, and ample parking. Some fun features include two shaded play structures (one for bigger kids and one for smaller ones), climbing rocks, a log tunnel, percussive musical instrument structures, checkers and chess tables, and a splash pad.

My three-year-old really enjoyed exploring both play structures. But his favorite part was the sign language wall, the piano wall art, and the insects wall on the smaller play structure. The park was clean, felt safe, and had plenty of people there when we visited. One issue I did come across was that the percussive musical instruments were broken the day we visited (December 2024). Hopefully this gets fixed soon (or perhaps it has already been fixed by the time you read this), since I know a lot of kids would enjoy them.

We didn’t get to try the splash pad yet since it’s currently winter, but we will plan to try it out once it gets warmer again outside!

2. Echo Trail Park

Address: 5655 Buffalo Drive Las Vegas, NV 89113

Community: Spring Valley

Quadrant: Southwest

Right off of Buffalo Drive, Echo Trail Park has two nice-sized and well-maintained play structures. The small structure is perfect for toddlers. It has a good variety of climbing and crawling equipment and also features letters and numbers that my toddler liked a lot. The larger play structure has a lot of tall slides and climbing areas that are perfect for bigger kids. I like that the play area is completely fenced in, especially since it is close to two major roads (Russell & Buffalo). The fencing definitely gives me peace of mind while my toddler plays. The entire playground area is also covered which is great for really sunny, hot days.

Echo Trail Park has benches for people to sit at and a couple of shaded picnic tables. The park also has a tennis court and workout stations on the other side of the parking lot. Echo Trail also has a splash pad, but I haven’t seen it in action yet! My toddler and I went during the winter, so no one was using the splash pad at the time. But when the weather gets warm again, we’ll be able to check it out!

3. Inzalaco Family Park

Address: 5801 Shinnecock Hills Avenue Las Vegas, NV 89141

Community: Enterprise

Quadrant: Southwest

Inzalaco Family Park is located in Southern Highlands, in the most southwest portion of Las Vegas. The area has quite a few fantastic parks, Inzalago being just one of many. Like Echo Trail Park, Inzalaco Family Park has a play structure that is fully fenced in which is just so great. I truly love the peace-of-mind knowing that my toddler is safe within the fenced area while playing!

Some of the best features of this park include the well-maintained play structure with plenty of different-sized slides, climbing and stepping structures, a tunnel, and a tic-tac-toe wall. The park also has a small swing set as well as some picnic tables. The playground is completely covered and is adequately shaded throughout. One of my favorite parts of this park are the grassy areas all around. There are so many trees scattered around the grass, making the scene peaceful and beautiful.

Although this park is relatively small compared to some others, it is still a great one to visit!

4. Oak Leaf Park

Address: 6303 Mesa Park Drive Las Vegas, NV 89135

Community: Summerlin

Quadrant: Southwest

Oak Leaf Park is literally filled with oak leaves among other trees and plants, just like the name of it states! Located in Summerlin off of Hualapai Way near The Cliffs neighborhood, it is one of the prettiest parks I have seen so far in Las Vegas.

The first thing I noticed when we walked around were the lovely trees, greenery, and gorgeous roses. The scenic mountain backdrop also adds to the location’s beauty, and the condition of the buildings and structures are also nice.

The park has two play structures, one bigger one and one smaller one. They are both in great condition and are covered to help with shade from the sun. However, depending on the time of day, the shade may or may not be that helpful. I got some pictures of the smaller play structure, but I’ll have to get ones of the bigger play structure next time; so many kids playing on it when we were there!

Oak Leaf Park also has plenty of well-maintained, paved walkways, benches, and picnic tables. If you love to play pickleball, they also have pickleball courts you can play on. There is limited parking, so try to keep that in mind when planning a trip to the park! I think out of all the parks I’ve visited in Las Vegas, this is one of my top three favorites and it is definitely one my kids and I will frequent in the future when we are in or near the Summerlin area.
