Today is my first day sketching on a drawing tablet. It feels almost like learning how to write again. Something about the connection between the tablet pen, the tablet, and the image being displayed on the computer monitor throws me off. But I assume it’s one of those things that will get easier with time. The range of textures I can get with this tablet is amazing. And for the part of me that always hated using up paper to practice sketching–what a great way to avoid paper waste!

Taking time to review sketching basic 3D shapes and shadows
Tonight, I’m doing some review before moving forward with some drawing exercises tomorrow. I just can’t believe how easy it is to create colorful art digitally using a drawing pad like the one I have. Where has this been all of my life! And to think, I wanted to return this gift because I wanted to save us money. I just need to trust Gregg more about these sorts of things.
I’m about to get ready for bed now. Thinking about my day, I am grateful for so much right now. For time with friends, hugs and cuddles with the pups, being able to create art, being able to enjoy beautiful music like Tisbury Lane by Mae, publishing my second article on Medium, having an incredible life partner who I can’t believe I was lucky to meet, having so much to look forward to. Going to bed with a heart full of gratitude is something I should do more often and more intentionally. It’s something that is sometimes hard to do when things get tough, but it’s what we should always strive for. ♥
